The Family-driven empowerment is an approach of LALIFA in which rural families are
empowered to identify their needs, make decisions, and take actions that directly influence their
social, economic, and personal lives. This empowerment approach emphasizes leveraging the
strengths, knowledge, and leadership within the family to create sustainable change and improve
overall family outcomes. It is often seen in initiatives designed to build resilience, strengthen
family bonds, enhance skills, and provide access to critical resources, while placing decision-
making power in the hands of the family members themselves.
The family-driven empowerment build on the National Strategy of Transformation (NST 2 ) 2024- 2030. The model works with local authorities to identify the families in extreme poverty and work with them to improve the overall life. 100 families have been graduated in the program so far.
Moreover, LALIFA recognizes that education is a powerful catalyst for social and economic development.
